Fee (MRV Fee)
Each applicant, including children, is required to pay a non-refundable,
non transferable USD 140 Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee, commonly
known as an application fee, whether the visa is issued or refused.
The application fee is in addition to any other fees pertaining
to your visa class and must be paid prior to your interview at
any UBA Plc branch.
Note: If you are Nigerian citizen resident in the US, to obtain
a Visa Fee Receipt from UBA Plc , please fax a copy of your passport's data page
to the person in Nigeria assisting you. That person will have to submit the clear
fax to UBA Plc In order to get a fee receipt issued.
The fees payable
at UBA Plc per passport are:
Visa Application Fee (MRV Fee): $140
USD in equivalent NGN at Consular Rate of Exchange.
VFS Service
Charge: N 5800 (for more details kindly click on the VFS Serivce charge link)
The above fees are not refundable. You must appear for an Interview within
1 year (365 days) from the date you purchased your fee receipt from UBA Plc .
If you do not appear for an Interview within one year after the purchase of your
fee receipt, it will no longer be valid. The receipt is deemed as utilized once
the interview has taken place, and cannot be used to make a subsequent appointment.
After you have paid the application fee, please keep the UBA Plc fee
receipt for your records to carry for submission at the Embassy / Consulate, which
is valid for one year from date of issuance, to your scheduled appointment date.
Application
fee exceptions: The following do not have to pay the application fee:
- J visa applicants participating in a U.S.-sponsored Exchange Visitor
Program (these program codes start with G-1 or G-2);
- Applicants
for A, G, C-3, and diplomatic visas (defined in 22 CFR 41.26)
- Replacement
of visa when the original visa was not properly affixed or needs to be reissued
through no fault of the applicant;
- U.S. Government employees traveling
on official business; and
- A parent, sibling, spouse or child of
a U.S. Government employee killed in the line of duty who is traveling to attend
the employee's funeral and/or burial; or a parent, sibling, spouse, son or daughter
of a U.S. Government employee critically injured in the line of duty for visitation
during emergency treatment and convalescence.
Issuance Fee: Additionally,
applicants from certain countries may be required to pay a visa issuance fee on
a reciprocal basis after having a successful interview. At the end of the interview,
the consular officer will instruct you on how to pay this fee.
Note:
Nigerians currently do not pay issuance fee for any visa classes.
VFS
Service Charge
Each applicant, including children, is required to pay a non-refundable,
non transferable logistic fee (service charge) of N 5800, whether
the visa is issued or refused. The service charge must be paid
at any UBA Plc branch for scheduling
interview appointment at the Embassy / Consulate.
Note: If you are Nigerian citizen resident
in the US, to obtain a Visa Fee Receipt from UBA Plc , please fax a copy of your
passport's data page to the person in Nigeria assisting you. That person will
have to submit the clear fax to UBA Plc in order to get a fee receipt issued.
IMPORTANT:
The VFS Service Fee Receipt is valid once purchased. You may attempt to schedule interview if the dates are available for scheduling.
The above fees are not refundable.

Other Fees
SEVIS Fee:
The
Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is an Internet-based system
that tracks F, M and J visa participants (and their family members) from the time
they receive their initial documentation (either an I-20 or a DS-2019) until they
graduate/leave school or conclude/leave program.
F, M and J visa principal
applicants: Check with your U.S. school to make sure your information has been
entered into SEVIS. If your I-20 or DS-2019 was issued on or after September 1,
2004, you will need to pay a fee in addition to the application fee. SEVIS
fee exception:
Applicants participating in a U.S. Government-sponsored
program.
Blanket L Fraud Prevention and Detection Fee:
The
principal applicant (only) of a blanket L petition must pay the USD 500 Fraud
Prevention and Detection fee.
Note: The U.S. petitioner pays this Fraud
Prevention and Detection Fee for individual L, H-1B and H-2B petitions when they
file them with USCIS.

Frequently Asked Questions based on Fees:
- My
company has an approved blanket L petition from DHS. Why must I pay an extra USD
500?
Blanket petitions for international companies transferring employees
to the United States require extensive anti-fraud background investigations by
DHS. These investigations are time consuming and expensive, thus they have established
this USD 500 Fraud Prevention and Detection fee for all blanket L visa applications.
- Do
I need to pay the application fee for my child?
Yes, every applicant for
a non-immigrant visa must pay this mandatory, non-refundable fee. Also, each child
should have his/her own EVAF.
- How do I pay for the reciprocity/issuance
fee?
If your visa has been granted, the consular officer will let you
know at the end of the interview whether you have to pay the fees and how to pay
this fee.
