Procedure to schedule an Emergency Appointment


Pay Visa application fee and VFS service charges. With rare exceptions, every applicant, including children, must pay a non-refundable MRV fee and VFS service charges at UBA Plc (Paid in NGN), inclusive of bank charges and VAT. Carry a photocopy of the current passport's first and the last page for procuring the receipts for the payments.


Return to this site and click on the Earliest Available Appointment link once the fees are paid to check for the availability of an interview appointment. You are advised to schedule an interview appointment on this site if the available date meets your travel plan. Kindly do not request for an emergency appointment if slots are available before your travel date.


Prepare your visa application pack which should include the completed and printed visa application forms EVAF-DS-160 as applicable, 2 recent photographs taken within the last 6 months, MRV fee receipt, VFS service charge receipt and your passport valid for at least six months beyond your intended date of travel to the U.S. Please also keep ready all documents supporting your request for an emergency appointment


If no immediate interview appointments are available on the site, send an email to the nearest U.S.Embassy / Consulate requesting for an earlier interview date providing details of urgency to travel along with a proof for the same.Please mention 'Request for emergency Interview' in the subject line of the email. Note: Emergency interview appointments are subject to availability. Applicants with insufficient documentary proof to prove urgency will be directed to schedule on the website.


If your request for an emergency appointment is approved, you will receive a return email from the U.S. Embassy/ Consulate specifying the date and time of interview. Please consider this email as appointment letter and take a print out and report at the scheduled date & time to the U.S. Embassy/ Consulate where your appointment for visa interview is scheduled. You will need to bring the Emailed Appointment Letter issued by Embassy/Consulate, the Visa Application Forms, 2 recent photograph (taken within the last 6 months), current and all old passports and the original UBA Plc MRV fee receipt towards U.S. visa application for $140. Applications without all of the above and the original UBA Plc MRV fee receipt or with an incorrect photograph will NOT be accepted.
