Remember, apply early! Here's why: Though the visa processing time is typically
2 business days, the processing time of a specific case may vary due to individual circumstances
and other special requirements. When you apply for a visa, you will be checked against
available records of people who are ineligible for visas or those whose applications
require additional review by U.S. agencies before a visa can be issued. If your
name or a close variation indicates that a further investigation of your application
is needed, your visa application will require additional processing time--this can
take several weeks. In these cases, the American Embassy / Consulate works diligently
to minimize any impact on your travel.
