Application Fee (MRV Fee)
Each applicant, including children, is required to pay a non-refundable,
non transferable US $140 Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee, commonly
known as an application fee, whether the visa is issued or refused.
The application fee is in addition to any other fees pertaining
to your visa class and must be paid prior to your interview at designated UBA Plc branch.
Note: If you are a Nigerian citizen resident in the U.S.,
to obtain a Visa Fee Receipt from UBA Plc , please fax a copy of
your passport's data page to the person in Nigeria assisting you.
The representative will have to submit a clear fax to UBA Plc in
order to get a fee receipt issued
The fees payable at UBA Plc per passport are:
Visa Application Fee (MRV Fee): US $140 payable in NGN equivalent at Consular Current Exchange Rate.
Application fee exceptions:
The following do not have to pay the application fee:
- J visa applicants participating in a U.S.-sponsored Exchange
Visitor Program (these program codes start with G-1 or G-2);
- Applicants for A, G, C-3, and diplomatic visas (defined in 22
CFR 41.26)
- Replacement of visa when the original visa was not properly
affixed or needs to be reissued through no fault of the applicant;
- U.S. Government employees traveling on official business; and
- A parent, sibling, spouse or child of a U.S. Government employee
killed in the line of duty who is traveling to attend the employee's
funeral and/or burial; or a parent, sibling, spouse, son or daughter
of a U.S. Government employee critically injured in the line of
duty for visitation during emergency treatment and convalescence.

- Do I need to pay the application fee for my child?
Yes, every applicant for a non-immigrant visa must pay this mandatory,
non-refundable fee. Also, each child should have his/her own EVAF.
